I was surprised in the best way for this month’s Boxycharm. I usually spoil myself, but this time I didn’t spoil it until the day it came – aka the best time to spoil yourself.
If you want a look inside this month’s Boxycharm keep reading… it’s a good one.
If you’re looking for a new cleanser you should definitely check this one out. My best friend told me about this brand back in, I want to say… 2014. I know, I should have listened and I didn’t. I feel like this brand has blown up in the last year. This cleanser is gentle, but very clarifying. This cleans the hell out of my skin so I found that only using it once a day is better for me. If you have unruly oily skin you’ll probably love this. The one flaw I have found is the strong lavender smell when you first start using it. I’ve used it probably 10 times now and I’m not noticing it as much anymore so it’s definitely not something that should turn you away.
This is the silkiest primer I’ve ever used. I love me some pore-filling, satin-y primers and this does not disappoint. It’s only $18, might seem a little pricey for a primer, but it’s so pretty. This has gorgeous frosted packaging, with a pump! I will say that this isn’t as pore-filling as I thought it would be. I use Smashbox Photo Finish religiously and I do feel like that one fills in my pores more than this, but this is just so luxe. The texture is heavenly, it smells delicious, and I don’t feel like it sits on my skin in the way that Photo Finish does. Highly recommend, mix with a moisturizer if it’s too drying for you.
I’m already in love with this and I’ve only used it once, but I can see it being in my every day makeup bag quickly. You can build up the pigment for the look you’re looking for which I really love. The cap is magnetic, and that made me fall in love with it because it makes it feel a lot more luxury. I also didn’t realize there was a primer in the bottom until I accidentally pulled it off (thank god I didn’t scrape the entire top of it in the process). The primer is a nice, waxy primer so you know it’s gonna stick on for a while.
I’ve been wanting to try Pretty Vulgar’s stuff for a while so I was really excited to see this highlight, and it’s $32 – giiiiirl, I was all kinds of excited because I’m not sure I would spend that much myself. Unfortunately when it got to me it was destroyed. I’m assuming the mailbox slammed the box down outside my door when he dropped it off. The swatch was beautiful and didn’t have any glitter chunks. I’ll try to re-press and save it, but the stubborn part of me wants to just throw it away because of all the broken bits in the packaging.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | $24
To be honest I thought I was going to hate this because everyone and their mom said it was an amazing dupe for L’Oréal Lash Paradise. I really don’t think it is. Yes, it has a similar brush, although I like Lash Paradise is more dense than this one. I love how fluffy and effortless this mascara is. I feel like this definitely reaches the base of your lashes way better than lash paradise, it’s also a lot less messy. The packaging is outstanding, probably the best mascara packaging I’ve ever had. The aluminum tube feels heavy and luxurious, and snaps closed. No major downsides so far, but I’ll keep you guys updated.
