I just got Gisou’s Honey Hair Mask, made by the absolutely stunning Negin Mirsalehi, and I can’t handle how much I love this brand. I mean… I’d buy anything that woman told me to if it made me look anything like her.
First off I can’t give enough love to their packaging. You’re spending almost $70 on a hair mask, which is kind of crazy when you think about it. However, having quality ingredients in a product that is made with love means that you need to pay a little more, which I’m okay with. Negin makes all her products with her family’s bees Mirsalehi Honey (click the link to learn more about their bee garden in The Netherlands) for that extra extra love. In my opinion, Gisou goes above and beyond to make you feel like your purchase was justified. I full on feel like it’s Christmas when I open Gisou products – self love on another level. You’re not only paying for the product, but the experience from the time you open the package to the end of the jar.

Once I stopped drooling over the packaging I opened the mask and to my excitement it smelled very similar to the hair perfume. If you follow me on Instagram you know I have heavy love for that perfume. I’ve been blasting through because I spray it all over my body, I’ve had to stop using it every day because I get anxiety about going through it so fast. It’s the perfect mix of warm and sexy, and clean and floral. I feel feminine without feeling too young. Sophisticated without being obnoxious. The hair mask is thick, reminds me of cream cheese frosting, and the jar is packed full to the brim. It’s also got a pretty sealed container, you can hear is open and close, so you won’t get water in the product and have it get funky in the bathroom moisture.
Now what you’re probably all here for – does my hair feel any different? After the first use – honestly, no. My hair felt noticeably softer when rinsing in the shower and it made it easier to comb through my hair after towel drying, but it’s a day later and I wouldn’t be able to tell I did anything different as of right now. I do need to say my hair is in desperate need of a hair cut because the last time I had a professional touch my hair was almost 2 years ago. So I’m working with some split ends, and overall straggly hair. I know I’m not going to have Negin’s luxurious locks at the end of this because of the state of my hair now, so I want to point out that I’m looking for overall hydration help – aka less flyaway and more shine. If this helps those issues then it’s a good buy on my end.
The jar does clearly say use it 1-2x a week for best results, so I’ll make sure to let you guys know after a couple weeks if it was worth the splurge. But honestly, it smells so delicious and the product itself makes me feel like I’m taking time for me so I think it’s a fun, self love purchase regardless, but I’ll still keep you guys looped in.
