If you’ve heard of Boxycharm then you might know they recently added an option of BoxyLuxe, which is a luxury quarterly box (that’s more than double the price of the regular subscription,) but let’s talk about if it’s worth it. Here’s what was inside March’s box:

Grab a cup of coffee, maybe some champagne, and let’s get into it. This is going to be a first impression of the box, if you guys want full reviews please let me know in the comments!
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box for $21/month, with an option to upgrade to BoxyLuxe for an additional $28.99 every 4 months. You must already be a Boxycharm subscriber, and upgrade in order to get BoxyLuxe. So far I’ve gotten 2 BoxyLuxe’s and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with them, not blown away, but not upset either.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream | $48
First of all, longest name ever, but I wanted to start with this because it was the first thing I took out of the box. Most of the time I go for the skincare immediately. I gravitate towards it way more than makeup, especially since I barely wear makeup to work anymore.
This cream is surprisingly amazing. It’s not going to knock your socks off right away, and doesn’t smell the best. It smells like a normal ass cream that you take from your mom’s cabinet. Simple, but damn effective. I don’t usually go for creams because I have combo skin and I can look like a greasy mess by the end of the day if I’m not careful. I also just usually prefer a gel moisturizer because I just like how it feels more and I like not having to wait for it to sink into my skin. I started using this as a night cream and almost immediately stopped having the hormonal chin acne that was ruining my life. I don’t know if this was necessarily what did it, I was shaving my mini-mustache (and stopped around the same time) so that could have definitely been breaking me out, but once I started using this they stopped appearing. Yes, I know I shouldn’t have done that, but I’m french and that shit ain’t cute. Overall I don’t feel like I look overly greasy in the morning either and would still use this as a morning moisturizer.

Lilly Lashes – Exclusive Faux Mink Gaia Lashes | $24.99
If you watch ANY beauty gurus on YouTube you know Lilly Lashes are the shit. I was pretty excited to see they were in the box, especially because I barely ever wear lashes and there’s absolutely no way I was going to buy a $25 pair when I can run to Target or Ulta and buy a pair for 5 bucks. Spoiler alert: I’ve never worn falsies out of the house! I’m too nervous I’ll look like I have no idea what I’m doing.
P.S. You can get 10% off your Lilly Lash order if you’re a first time customer on their site!

COVER FX Perfector Face Palette | $45
I saw Kathleen Lights review this and she said it was nothing great, so I have my expectations real low for this. It might be a good one to throw in my bag for work because I barely wear makeup to work and like a very subtle glow… we’ll see. I receive the Light/Medium option, they also have a Medium/Deep, not sure why there’s only 2 options though. I’ve used the blush quickly and it was actually really pigmented, and blended out beautifully.

MODA Brushes – Powder and Soft Glow Kit (Limited Edition) | $29.99
These are fluffy and pretty, can’t really complain. The blush/highlighter blush is awesome, loved using it for blush. The other brush is kind of weird, too flimsy for foundation, too stiff for bronzer. This is probably going to become a cream contour brush or something, we’ll see.

Iconic London Eyebrow Cushion in Medium | $40
So… I’m not really sure how I feel about this. I’m the kind of person that bounces between eyebrows products frequently. I don’t know why, I guess I haven’t found the perfect way to do my brows. This product is kind of weird. It’s a $40 product, which is kind of outrageous to me. The product is super wet, a lot will come off on your brush, and I really don’t think the brush that comes with it is good enough. I use it with my Anastasia brow brush. There are two shades in the compact, the lighter for the front half of your brow and the darker for the tail. The formula seems to last without smudging, unless it gets wet – then it’s game on, it’ll be completely washed off. I’ve been using it for the last couple days and I’m actually in love with it. If you shape the bottom of your brow and then quickly brush it up into your hairs it blends out so nicely.

Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask | $34
I’m a huge fan of this brands gold eye masks, and I’m glad they’ve been getting love lately. How many of you used to use the cucumber peel off mask from the drugstore back in the 90s? Just me? I used to always steal my mom’s face masks and I’d literally apply it 2-3x just because I loved peeling it off so much. Thank god it was only a couple bucks or my mom would have whooped my ass. I’m so excited to use this – I did see Kathleen Lights use this too and she put on a very thin layer and had a hard time taking this off. Use a generous amount, that goes for all peel off masks.

BECCA Ultimate Lipstick Love in W Bare | $24
I’m obsessed. Such a gorgeous nude!! I’ve never owned a creamy lipstick that’s this expensive, so I’m excited. The color is absolutely beautiful, the packaging is stunning. I can’t get over the packaging. I didn’t even swatch it for you guys because I can’t stand to mess with it. The tube is a little heavy and has a gentle magnetic close. It’s so damn beautiful.

Morphe 15-Shade Artistry Palette in 15-D Day Slayer | $16
To be honest, this looks a little too orange for my liking, but I think I’m going to like it nonetheless. I think it’s going to be a good addition palette, one I use with other palettes since I can’t really use any of these for transition colors. This might be a beautiful neutral, transition palette for darker skin tones.
10% off for first time customers on the Morphe website!
Deborah Lippmann O’Donna and Modern Love Nail Set | $16
I got the colors Modern Love and Oh Donna in this set. I usually only ever wear nude or dark purple, never anything else. I’m excited to try these colors, especially the Modern Love one. I’m not sure I’m going to use the copper one, but we’ll see.

BOXYCHARM Exclusive Makeup Bag | $20
Or as they called on the info paper included “traincase”. I’ve never in my life heard of a makeup bag called a trainfcase, have you? However, this bag is pretty damn big, I put everything from the box in there and still had a bunch of room. It’s a beautiful copper color with a holographic shift. I could always use another makeup bag, and if you don’t like having too many just give it as a gift in the future, or keep it in the back of your closet for when yours gets grimy from makeup stains.
I said the subscription was pretty good at the beginning of this post because as you can see the boxes aren’t amazing. They for sure aren’t going to make you cry in happiness. In my experience, I’ve gotten products that I’ve wanted to try for a while, but never prioritized buying. That’s how I describe this subscription box. If you love trying new things then this is for you. If you love what you love and don’t really stray from that I’m not sure I would upgrade to this box.
