I’m jumping right into this – how can I not try a shampoo that’s campaign is based off the term, “Billionaire hair”? I had to. I’ve been talking about haircare on this blog a lot, and I’m honestly as surprised as everyone else. I’ve never thought of myself as someone who’s really into haircare, but here I am… must be the Leo in me.
R+Co recently reached out to me to try a couple of their products, I chose to new Bel Air Shampoo and Conditioner because I’ve been pretty into switching it up lately, and I’m really into one of these products specifically.

The main reason I chose to shampoo and conditioner was because I could give the brand an honest try because I wash my hair so often, if I had chose something else I don’t know how often I would’ve used it. Secondly, I loved the fact that this shampoo has anti-oxidant complex in it which protects against free radicals and UV rays. So this stuff is perfect for the summer, especially in the city with all the smog and gross air.
I’ve heard a lot about this brand on Instagram from beauty influencers, but I was never the type of person to need to try different hair products – until now apparently. My hair is very fine and needs to be washed almost daily so if I put multiple haircare products in it just becomes a mess, but I may have found a fun combination recently.
Clarifying shampoo + hair mask (2x a week) + lightweight shampoo = clean, but not heavy hair. Add hair oil or leave in conditioner = perfect hair day. I know I’m basically promising gold right now, but give it a try especially if you have the same kind of hair type as me.

BEL AIR Smoothing Shampoo | $28
I’m pretty picky with my shampoo, like don’t you dare give me suave 2-in-1 or anything that is only $1 for an entire bottle, so I was excited to be able to try R+Co’s shampoo. The only other product I’ve tried of theirs is the dry shampoo paste, if you want a review of that leave a comment below!
I’ve been loving this Bel Air shampoo. I’ve actually been reaching for this more often than my Gisou honey hair wash to be honest. This shampoo is just so much more clarifying than the Gisou one and I love a squeaky, squeaky clean scalp. Although, I have noticed my split ends are a lot more noticeable lately so that may be because of how clarifying this is. This reminds me a lot of the Lush Shampoo Bar in Seanik. The super clean feeling all the way to my roots makes me hair feel weightless. I touch my hair a lot, I have a side part so I flip my hair back over to the side a lot. So I like to have super clean hair at the beginning of each day, especially on work days. If I have dirty hair then I start of my day in a bad mood. Both the R+Co and Lush shampoos have a bright, citrus smell that’s awesome to wake up to.
I desperately need a hair cut so I’m not going to blame the product for drying out my ends. For me, I’d rather re-moisturize my hair with hair oils or leave in conditioner than have a gentle wash that doesn’t make my hair feel really clean and fresh. So keep that in mind when considering these products.

BEL AIR Smoothing Conditioner | $28
Considering how clarifying the shampoo is I thought this conditioner would be a lot heavier and more moisturizing. The set says it protects against UV rays and in my mind I thought it would have to have a thick consistency, but this is so lightweight and creamy. If I had to describe it in more detail I’d say it’s a little oily as well, and soaks in quickly.
Funny enough I use this the same way I use the Gisou conditioner. I absolutely love using this after a moisturizing mask because it’s not going to weigh your hair down, just locks in the moisture. This is like the gel moisturizer on conditioners. Most of the time if I use this on it’s own it doesn’t feel like it’s moisturizing enough though. I wish it was a tiny bit heavier. Conditioners just can’t win with me apparently. I think I’m still on the hunt for my perfect, perfect moisturizer.
All in all I really liked this set, but I loooove this shampoo. I love wearing my hair down, but having long hair means I’m touching my hair a lot. I also work a desk job where I’m constantly looking down so my hair is always in my face. By the end of the day my hair is always starting to look a little flat and slightly oily. As I said above, I look for a shampoo that is super clean feeling without stripping or making my hair feel brittle. Not to mention the shampoo has a nice scent, and makes me feel really clean… what more can you ask for, right? Have you tried any R+Co products?
