I’ve been pretty bummed to not be able to fully workout lately, I really enjoyed the routine I was getting into by going to Orangetheory almost every morning, and getting my workout in before even walking the dog in the morning.
Here’s a list of workouts I’ve been doing at home in the meantime to keep me sane…
Melissa Wood Health | 7-day free trial, $9.99/month
This is my OG lately. I love it so much. I usually love intense workouts, and to be drenched in sweat. That’s when I feel like I’ve done a good job and completely controlled my body in a time of chaos (it’s a physical and mental thing for me that I love,) but surprisingly I love this.
This is the opposite, but still killer. I usually can’t focus too long with low-impact workouts, but Melissa is so great at what she does. These workouts are small, but mighty. She has videos ranging from 8 mins to 54 mins, so it’s literally whatever you can fit in your day. Sometimes I do a 20 mins in the morning before my first meeting, then another 10-15 min at lunch. It’s all up to you, which is what I really love about it.
The workouts though – woah. The small pulses she does with transitions into more pulsing. My god. I also am almost positive I have snapping hip syndrome meaning every time I do leg lifts or stretch my lips/hips too much my hips crack and it’s painful and very uncomfortable. I know I’m getting a good stretch in for my hips and overall mobility – excellent for when you’re feeling less active. Mobility, focus, and form are so important.
I can also say I suggested this to one of my coworkers, who goes to pilates classes multiple times a week and she said this was awesome. Good for beginners, and well as if you already attend pilates.
@rrayyme Instastory Live Workouts | free
Freee! I love Remi, and she’s been doing at-home free workouts on Insta Live with her boyfriend, Nate, and they’ve been so good, and so hard. Her boyfriend is a military guy, super-fit, and focuses a lot on form. He talks you through the poses and makes it really easy to follow along. Quick paced, and will get your sweating.
These IGTVs are just really nice, it feels like you’re getting a one on one training session, and you get to see cute dogs along the video.
To be honest – so, so many accounts on Instagram have been doing live workouts lately, be on the look out! Even Revolve has been doing some.
Nintendo Switch Ring Fit | way too expensive
This is usually around $70 I think, and people have been selling it for $200-300 which is disgusting. Super annoying people use now to inflate the prices on people, but I guess that’s how the world works unfortunately. I would suggest this once things get better, or if you know you won’t do any other workout. Watch some videos on youtube to get a better idea of what it’s about. It’s a fun game especially if you’re into video games.
Tip: make sure you have a pillow or something soft for when you do floor exercises if you have hardwood floors and/or your yoga mat is too thin because your tailbone will get rocked.
Added some accessories I’ve have enjoyed/wanted for the workouts above, you do not need ANY accessories for any of these workouts though except maybe a mat:
