The time we’re living in right now is weird. I, and probably many of you, feel caught up in between spending regularly to support to economy, and saving just in case things start to get worse. It’s a really uneasy feeling of over-reacting and under-reacting at the same time.
I felt like I didn’t want to be insensitive with my blog posts because I know there are people losing their jobs, including my family. I know a lot of you don’t care about the Nordstrom sale, or whatever the hell else is going on. But, some of you like the distraction. So, I wanted to put together a list of brands that are trying to help with COVID-19 efforts that you can feel better about supporting. Check out some of them below:
These are all brands that are donating a portion of their proceeds to COVID-19 efforts, whether that be food banks, or masks for local health care workers, as well as helping to paying their employees so they don’t lose their jobs. If you’re able, you can still support to economy and the brands that are trying to make a difference.
For one, I’m shocked more brands aren’t supporting COVID-19 efforts, and it’s been hard to find a good list with which brands are actually helping, and how exactly their helping. Here’s a list of some of the ones I could find:
REVOLVE – donating 10,000 N95 masks to hospitals, and are actively taking donations to distribute to more hospitals.
Reformation – partnering with the city of LA to make masks in their facilities, as well as selling bundles of mask donations. You can add 5 masks to your cart as a donation for an extra $25 for example.
MAC Cosmetics – donating $10 million to 250 organizations. Here are some lipsticks that proceeds will be donated 100%.
Aritzia – 20% off everything with free shipping, they have the Aritzia Community Relief Fund where 100% of the proceeds during the sale will go to their employees.
Nike – donated millions in the effort to fight COVID-19
Apple – donated $15 million, and offering a Customer Assistance program for Apple Card holders to skip their March payments.
Feel good about where your money is going in these times, and if you can try and support small businesses in the area if you can. Order gift cards for your favorite spots that you know you’ll go to once this is over, if you’ve moved away from home gift a gift card to someone back home. Postmates, GrubHub, DoorDash, and meal deliveries are employing people as well so it’s a great time to be ordering.
These are a just a few companies that are helping with COVID-19 efforts, I’m sure there are more, and if you know please please comment below to create a masterlist of companies! Hope you all are healthy, staying safe, and staying in.
