Let me tell ya, couch shopping is not easy. Sofas are either way too cheap or way too expensive and there doesn’t seem to be much in between. I’m here to hopefully make it a little easier on you. This isn’t just a list of sofas that I liked. I put a lot more effort into these references so hopefully this helps someone.
Here’s a list of a few sofas that I either am purchasing, or considered purchasing from $800 to $2500:
Matt and I are in the market for a new couch and have wanted a chaise sectional for a while now. Our couch now is 84″ long, mind you I’m 5’8″ and Matt is 6’2″ so we’re not small people, plus we have a 95lb dog that loves to cuddle. We kept putting it off and putting it off, and then one day I washed the couch cushions and the zipper tore… time to start looking.
We set a budget of $1500 (at first) because we wanted something that wasn’t going to feel like a dorm room and break down after a few months. After weeks and weeks of searching I just couldn’t settle on one. We found Interior Define and our budget went out the window.
But guys – we bought a new couch!
I’ve been combing the internet for weeks now searching a sectional that fits into this criteria: budget-friendly, apartment friendly (not too big for our 800sq ft. 1 bedroom apartment so it would need to be under 105″ wide) and dog friendly (durable fabric that you can spot clean).
Here’s what I’ve found:

Living Spaces
Great Budget Choice + Perk to be able
to sit on the sofas in stores

Aidan IV COLLECTION | $1200-$1475
Starting off with the very first one we thought we were going to buy. This, and the next listed, are the only ones out of the collection we actually got to sit on and measure out in person.
The Aidan Collection comes with multiple options, but here were the two we thought of getting – Aidan IV Sectional with Right Arm Facing Chaise ($1475) and Aidan IV Sectional Reversible Sofa/Chaise ($1200).
This was really nice. Soft, nice texture on the fabric (didn’t think Moo’s nails would mess it up), and the arms were the perfect height for both of us. Plus, the seat depth wasn’t drastic, but you could sit back a bit!
- Deets:
- Price – $1200-1475
- Sofa Dimensions – 94.5″W x 64″D x 30″H / 110.5″W x 64″D x 30″H
- Seat Depth – 24 inches on both

AQUARIUS II COLLECTION | $795
We really liked this budget couch. I say budget because it felt decent, but definitely didn’t feel like a really good quality couch. If you’re set to below $1000 though this is great. It has a mid-centurn feel, so if you have this style or want something clean and not too fluffy I think this is a great choice for you. Only thing is that it’s 120″ which is very long for a small apartment.
They’re out of the Light Grey option (in both left and arm facing chaises) which would’ve been my person choice, but if you’re not in a rush you can add your email to get notified for when they restock. We also found one in the back warehouse (all the sale pieces) in a dark blue, so you might be able to find a winner if you check it out in store.
- Deets:
- Price – $795
- Sofa Dimensions – 120″W x 70″D x 33″H
- Seat Depth – 22 inches
Interior Define
Custom bay-bay! Choose fabric, legs, size (length of sofa and chaise length!!), depth, and filling! PLUS AFFIRM FINANCING AVAILABLE.

SLOAN CUSTOM SECTIONAL | Starts aT ~$1900
When Matt and I started seriously looking at Interior Define everything got more confusing because our budget went out the window. We realized these options are more of a luxury, BUT you can at least pay through Affirm (the same company that we used for our Peloton).
We spend HOURS searching Interior Define’s Instagram account trying to find pictures of the fabric colors, finally settled between Dove, Oat, and Oatmeal. Narrowed it down to Oat, and then spent the day on in because we were scared Moose would ruin it.
- Deets:
- Price – Starts at $1895
- Sofa Dimensions – 92″-120″ in length, 63″-73″ chaise length,
- Seat Depth -24″ to 28″

AINSLEY CUSTOM SECTIONAL | STARTS at ~$2500
We had finally settled on Sloan at this point, but couldn’t figure out the legs or fabric color, so we took an extra look at their Instagram again. I came across a picture of a frenchie on the Ainsley couch and said, “oh no” out loud because I knew the budget was way out the window now. Yes, you guessed it… we changed out minds and ended up going with the Ainsley.
The Oat color was perfect for the vision I have (for reality I’m not so sure yet, hoping Moose doesn’t disrespect the couch). The full length side on the chaise was so great too since it’ll be close to the wall, but not ON the wall.
We fell in love, but we were (aka I was) so undecided on whether to get Dove because it’ll be better for Moose, or Oat because I loved it. We went with love (Oat), we’ll see if I get my heart broken. The picture above is the color we chose.
- Deets:
- Price – Starts at around $2495, but ours was around $2400 (not including shipping and taxes and we got it on sale) after shipping because upgrade from 97″ to 101″, and we got down alternative.
- Sofa Dimensions – Between 97″ and 125″ in Length, 73″-83″ chaise,
- Seat Depth – 25″
I’ll be sure to update with photos of a Living Room transformation once the couch arrives, we get a new coffee table, new TV, and some art. How do you guys like these options? Let me know what you think below in the comments.
