I’ve been trying to find more afforable things lately, but I know that if I’m being true to me I’m always going to be a mix of afforable and luxury so I wanted to talk about some of my favorite investments pieces.
Here are some of me, and my fiancé’s favorites:
ANINE BING TEE | $99
This doesn’t seem like a big investment piece, but when you think about it spending $100 on a tee shirt it’s kinda crazy. But hear me out. This is the best quality tee I’ve ever had, and have ever worn. I’ve worn it pretty regularly for over a year and it’s definitely faded a bit, but nowhere NEAR where other black shirts would. It’s quality for sure. I feel chic, edgy, and cool in it.
Tip: I ordered the white tee by Anine Bing (with the embroided white brand name on the front) and it was the opposite quality. It felt just like any tee you’d pick up at Target or anywhere else. So, I’m not sure if it’s JUST the tee that I have or what.
ALL SAINTS DALBY LEATHER JACKET | $450
I was about to throw up when I got this jacket because 1). I was so excited and 2). I was so stressed out about spending that much. This was an early Hanukkah gift from my fiancé, and I had my company Holiday party to attend that night and no jacket to wear… in comes in beautiful, buttery baby. Highly, highly recommend. I got a size 10 (which is their biggest size) for reference. I’m normally a M or L in tops.
COMMON PROJECTS ACHILLES LOW | $410
I got a pair of Common Projects for my fiancé for Christmas last year and I was so jealous because I want a pair too! He wanted some chic, timeless, high-quality leather sneakers that he could dress up or dress down. These do the trick.
They’re a bitch to break in (as is any leather shoe) so prepare for blisters, and protect your shoes from blood. I wish I was joking, but he defintely bled near the back heal one of the first couple times wearing. I’d say it took 3-4 wears before he told me they were comfortable. True to size!
REFURBISHED MAC MONITOR 27″ | $600-700
I can’t remember exactly how much this was because I can’t find the receipt. Full disclosure this took me TWO times to buy. I got the 27″ thunderbolt display monitor for around $300-400 and the power supply was shot, I’d hear a low buzzing that eventually got louder and louder every time I used it. This is apparently pretty common for refurbished Mac monitors so just be prepared with patience. We returned it, got a refund, and I bought another one for DOUBLE THE PRICE. But ladies and gentlemen, you get what you pay for.
This baby has been cruisin’ since, and I love her to death. She’s beautiful, she’s easy to clean, and it’s so easy to go from plugging in my work laptop to my personal laptop. The biggest thing though – it’s aesthetic as hell. It’s basically a piece of art in the living room. I did not, under any circumstances, want a black LCD monitor, I’m so glad I found this refurbished one.
Tip: you can ONLY get these monitors refurbished because they don’t make them anymore, they stopped production in 2016. If you get a monitor now it’s an iMac, which means it’s very expensive.
LASIK EYE SURGERY | $3000
We got Matt LASIK a year ago and it’s honestly been one of the best decisions. We call him laser eyes, and I’m very jealous. One day I’ll know what it’s like to have perfect vision, but until then I’ll have Matt remind me at least weekly how amazing it is.
Yes, it seems terrifying and I’m sure I’ll be dry-heaving my way to the Dr.’s office when I get mine done (if I’m a candidate), but you end up with magic so… he went to Dr. Feinerman in Newport Beach, CA who accepts CareCredit and it always doing deals. You can tell he’s not about the money and really want to help people, or else he’d be charging WAY more.
PELOTON BIKE | $2800
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I’m madly in love with our Peloton bike who we named Maurice. I love everything about it. It’s sleek, doesn’t take up a lot of space, almost completely silent, and it so, so, so fun.
The price is definitely steep and I know it’s not affordable for everyone, but we got a set that had cycling shoes, light weights, etc., and there’s two of us using it so it’s a little less expensive that way. I also think of it this way – we were paying $180 each per month for our Orangetheory membership… this is a flat fee and then only $40 a month (both of us under one account). We definitely save in the long run & it’s like therapy to me.

DIPTYQUE CANDLES | $36-68
Depending on the size they range from around $40 to $70, but they are COMPLETELY WORTH IT. I’m obsessed. You can 100% tell the difference between a cheap and an expensive candle.
Let’s put it this way. I have a coworker who doesn’t care about bougie, trendy things and I even got him buying them and understanding why expensive candles are worth the price. That’s huge.
I know buying expensive things isn’t accessible for everyone right now, but I wanted to share some things that have made a difference in my day-to-day, and hopefully help manifest for those who are thinking about these things in the future. You got this. Let me know what your favorite investment pieces have been in the comments.
